Care For Your Knits
Here's the quick rundown for caring for your knits. A lot of my yarns contain Superwash Merino. I do this because I'm a Mom of three kiddos and convenience is my thing. If I can throw it in my washing machine - I'm a happy woman. That being said, here's what I do.
My socks knit up with SockPop (Superwash Merino, Bamboo and Nylon) I toss in the washing machine (cold water) and they usually find their way into the dryer too - because I'm busy and grabbing laundry and throwing it from washer to dryer is a ten second task that is done with not much thought put into it.
All other items that have Superwash Merino - I put it into a mesh laundry bag and wash on a gentle cycle with cold water. When it comes out of the wash I'll lay it out on a towel and let it dry.
Items that don't contain Superwash Merino - I pop it in the sink with cold water, add a little gentle soap, swish it around for a little bit and rinse. I'll wring it out gently, lay it out on a big bath towel and roll it up tight to get a bunch of water out. I'll put it on a second towel, shape it and let it dry. Easy peasy.
